work with me!
… life coach Ali Lanzetta of Star in the Margin Coaching
Do you know it’s time for something to change, but you’re unsure what, how, or where to start?
Have you fallen into a creative rut and want to get back on track with renewed imagination, energy, and focus?
Are you ready to get “un-stuck” by tapping into the curiosity, optimism, and courage that will help you move forward?
Hi! I’m Ali. Thanks for visiting!
My many years as a creative educator in academic settings instilled in me a great love of teaching and inspiring creativity in others, so eventually I set out on my own to see if I could broaden my offerings, expand my reach, and make more of a difference in the world. All of my work–my creative, teaching, and coaching work–has a common goal: to shine a little more light into the world.
As a writer, artist, educator, and certified Positive Psychology coach, I specialize in seeing things from different angles. I love helping people pursue meaningful transformations, develop in ways that excite them, navigate adversity with curiosity and inventiveness, and figure out how to lead happier, richer, more creatively engaged lives.
My manner and methods are informed by Positive Psychology (the applied science of human flourishing), the contemplative practices of Zen Buddhism and Yoga, a longstanding preoccupation with the miracles of the imagination and the mysteries of the mind, and a lifelong love affair with the arts.
Whether I’m teaching, coaching, or anything in between, I really love helping people figure out what truly lights them up and learn how to invent wider nets of possibility, connect new dots, find and follow pockets of wonder, and discover opportunities to find value and joy in our creative lives and our experience more broadly by using that light to illuminate new ways forward.
COUNSEL, COACHING, & EDUCATION
I wear hats of multiple colors based in my areas of interest and expertise, so I can be the best possible helper for my students and clients. Whether you’re navigating a transition, pursuing a goal, or feeling generally stuck and wanting more clarity or happiness in your creative work or your life more generally, I’d love to help! I have many years of experience teaching creativity and writing in higher education, am certified by a leading program in the field of Positive Psychology, and am truly passionate about what I do.
How can a coach or counselor help?
Here’s a cute video that illustrates “How Coaching Works.”
Working with an educator, counselor, or coach has many benefits — and different guides have different styles. By choosing to work with me, you can develop a more constructive mindset, more positive internal environment, and improved creativity. As a result, you can expect to tap into more of the skills and motivations that will help you sustain positive change and engagement–whether in your creative work, your personal life, or any other area.
